Catbird

Lots of Catbirds, no Baltimore Orioles

Advertisements

When we stay in Cape Cod we always make a stop at the Bird Watcher’s General Store in Orleans.  They have a great selection of items and I got several feeders designed to attract Baltimore Orioles. These photos were taken two years ago and I’ve still to see an Oriole. What I do get is Gray Catbirds which I find to be a handsome bird. The are named for their call which does sound like a cat.

New Growth on River Road

The budding twigs spread out their fan,
To catch the breezy air;
And I must think, do all I can,
That there was pleasure there.
